The short version
- JSI Career Explorer is a free career exploration tool for Justice Scholars Institute students and staff.
- AI roadmaps and career data are a starting point, not professional advice. Check important decisions with JSI staff, a counselor or an official source.
- Use the app respectfully and don't try to misuse or copy it.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Osai Consulting LLC (“we,” “us”) about your use of the JSI Career Explorer app (“the app”). By using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Who can use the app
The app is offered to students and staff of the Justice Scholars Institute (JSI) at the University of Pittsburgh. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use the app only with permission from a parent or guardian, or as part of a JSI program activity.
3. What the app does
The app helps you explore careers. You can take the O*NET Interest Profiler, see careers that match your interests, search and browse careers, save careers and create a learning roadmap for a career. The app is free and has no in-app purchases or ads.
4. AI-generated roadmaps
Learning roadmaps and the Trending Careers list are written by an AI service (Anthropic's Claude). The app asks your permission before your first roadmap request. AI-generated content can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and it may name courses, certifications or steps that don't apply to you. Use roadmaps as ideas to discuss, and confirm requirements with JSI staff, a school counselor or an official source before you act on them.
5. Career information
Career descriptions, skills, outlooks and Interest Profiler content come from O*NET, a program of the U.S. Department of Labor. We show this information as provided and don't guarantee that it is complete or current for your area. This application incorporates information from O*NET Web Services by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (USDOL/ETA). O*NET® is a trademark of USDOL/ETA.
6. Not professional advice
The app is an educational tool. It does not give academic, career, financial, legal or employment advice, and it does not guarantee admission to any program or any job outcome.
7. Using the app respectfully
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, sell or redistribute the app, or try to extract its source code, except as the law allows;
- misuse the app's connection to O*NET, Anthropic or our servers, for example by sending automated or excessive requests;
- try to get around the app's security, or interfere with how it works for others;
- use the app for anything unlawful or harmful.
8. Ownership
The app, including its design, text and code, belongs to Osai Consulting LLC, except for third-party content and software that belong to their owners. Those items are listed on our Licenses page. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable permission to use the app on your own devices for its intended purpose. Your app store's terms also apply.
9. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop offering the app or any feature. Features that depend on O*NET, Anthropic or Google may stop working if those services change. We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the app after a change, the new Terms apply.
10. Disclaimer
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Osai Consulting LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or opportunity, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
13. Apple
If you got the app from Apple's App Store, these Terms are between you and Osai Consulting LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms who may enforce them against you.
